COLUMBUS, Ind. — Motorists are advised that traffic patterns in downtown Columbus have changed to accommodate active work on the water main improvement project.
Traffic is shifted to the two southern lanes of Second Street, between Jackson and California Streets, while crews finish hot mix asphalt (HMA) patching.
Washington Street is closed at Second Street so workers can remove brick pavers and patch the roadway.
After rush hour, the eastern lane of Brown Street is closed for two days to complete pavement patching.
Expect traffic to shift between lanes through next week as crews retire the existing water main and prepare the roadway for milling and overlay operations.
Drivers are urged to use caution, watch for workers and equipment, and follow all posted traffic control signs.
