TAYLORSVILLE, Ind. - The Bartholomew County Sheriff's Office (BCSO) and German Township Volunteer Fire Department (GTVFD) responded to a one-vehicle crash on southbound U.S. 31 in Taylorsville late Friday afternoon.
BCSO said a semi-truck carrying an oversized load failed to clear the underpass and struck the I-65 bridge over U.S. 31. Traffic was snarled, and lane restrictions were put into place.
Southbound U.S. 31 at I-65 was down to one lane, and I-65 southbound exit 76A was temporarily closed.
INDOT inspected the bridge, and the Indiana State Police conducted a vehicle inspection.
GTVFD said authorities cleared the wreckage at around 11 p.m., and all lanes were reopened.
