COLUMBUS, Ind. - Toyota Material Handling North America (TMHNA) on Wednesday opened a new $100 million, 295,000‑square‑foot manufacturing facility in Columbus dedicated to producing electric forklifts.
The expansion increases Toyota’s Columbus footprint to 1.9 million square feet and adds 140 jobs, bringing its local workforce to more than 2,100.
Mayor Mary Ferdon praised the company’s investment in advanced manufacturing and its longstanding role in the community. The Columbus Redevelopment Commission invested more than $4.4 million in infrastructure improvements to support the project.
The ceremony featured remarks from TMHNA and government leaders, followed by facility tours.
