FRANKLIN, Ind. - The Johnson County Sheriff's Office (JCSO) is alerting the public to an increase in incidents involving the social media trend of juveniles kicking doors at random homes.
Recently, JCSO deployed additional deputies and detectives to patrol the affected areas in an effort to deter this activity. During those patrols, they detained nine juveniles for curfew violations.
Chief Deputy Andy Barnhart stated, "These actions are not harmless pranks—they cause property damage, create fear for homeowners, and can quickly escalate into dangerous situations. We encourage parents to talk with their children about this trend. Remind them that what may seem like a joke on social media can have serious consequences, including criminal charges, injury, or worse."
Authorities know that it is not a great photo, but they are asking for the public's assistance in identifying the individual pictured. If you recognize this individual or have any information related to these incidents, email JCSO at crimetips@johnsoncountysheriff.com.
