NEEDHAM, Ind. – A home in Needham, northeast of Franklin in Johnson County, was destroyed by fire on Sunday morning. The Needham Community Fire Department (NCFD) was dispatched to the house on County Road 700E just after 8 a.m.
The residence was fully engulfed in flames when the first crews from the Needham and Franklin Fire Departments arrived at the scene.
Firefighters tried to search the house but withdrew due to intense heat and the fact that the structure was starting to collapse.
Eventually, the fire was extinguished. The Whiteland, Amity, Trafalgar, and Nineveh Fire Departments also assisted.
The homeowners were not at home, and no one was injured in the blaze.
NCFD officials say the fire is still under investigation, but it is not believed to be suspicious.
