SEYMOUR, Ind. - The City of Seymour has announced that applications for the Mayor's Youth Council are now available to incoming 9th-12th graders at Seymour High School, Trinity Lutheran High School, and Sandy Creek Christian Academy. Home-schooled students are also eligible to apply.
Interested students can find the application here or request an application by emailing mayor@seymourin.org. Applications are due by June 15.
The youth council operates as an advisory board to the mayor on issues affecting young people in the community. Applicants need to be able to commit to attending most, if not all, youth council meetings from September through April.
Council members will participate in city meetings, tour city facilities, hear from guest speakers, and engage in other leadership activities. Students will establish connections and learn how networking can help accomplish tasks and goals.
