FRANKLIN, Ind. — During fall and winter, the Franklin Parks and Recreation Department invites residents to engage in hands-on art programs.
Classes are held at municipal facilities and instructed by local art leaders.
Recent programming included a beginner mosaic tile class, which filled all available slots within hours and generated a 15-person waiting list, and a popular DIY doormat painting workshop.
Upcoming programs include a youth and adult wood carving class in November, along with sensory-friendly adaptive craft workshops tailored for Halloween and Christmas holiday events.
Department staff is currently organizing the official schedule for the first six months of 2027. Public suggestions for instructors, art medias, and class concepts are currently being accepted by the department.
