FRANKLIN, Ind. - Representatives at Discover Downtown Franklin said they were "totally blown away" by the attendance last Saturday, May 30, for the opening day of the Franklin Farmers Market and the rescheduled Strawberries on the Square event.
Over 8,800 people attended. The 5,000 strawberry shortcakes sold out early, just before 5 p.m. Vendors were struggling to keep up with the demand. Next year, organizers promised to order even more supplies.
To put it in perspective, the largest attendance ever at a Farmers Market was 3,500 people. The last time the two events were combined was in 2022, with 3,300 attendees.
Discover Downtown Franklin thanked its volunteers, partners, sponsors (Johnson Memorial Health and MNM Construction), vendors, the City of Franklin, staff, and everyone who worked hard to make the Franklin Farmers Market/Strawberries on the Square combined event a success.
