Edinburgh Main Street receives grant for first Edinburgh Rubber Duck Regatta

EDINBURGH, Ind. – Edinburgh Main Street has been awarded a grant from Festival Country Indiana to help launch the first annual "Edinburgh Rubber Duck Regatta," a new family-friendly festival on Saturday, August 22, at Irwin Park.

The one-day festival is designed to bring visitors to Edinburgh while showcasing the community through a unique and fun event centered around a rubber duck race on the Blue River.

Individuals, families, businesses, organizations, and teams will purchase, decorate, and race oversized rubber ducks through a series of heats for the chance to earn the coveted Top Duck Trophy.

In addition to the duck races, the festival will feature a Jeep Show, local and regional vendors, food trucks, music by a DJ, kid and yard games, and family-friendly activities throughout the day.

"We wanted to create something that was uniquely Edinburgh, an event that families could enjoy together while giving people from outside of Edinburgh and Johnson County a reason to spend the day in our community," said Crissy Riley, Vice President of Edinburgh Main Street.

The grant awarded by Festival Country Indiana will help support the startup of this inaugural event and assist Edinburgh Main Street in attracting visitors from throughout Central Indiana and beyond.
