Columbus man gets 5 years for violation of no-contact order, other felony charges

COLUMBUS, Ind. - The Bartholomew County Prosecutor's Office handed down a five-year sentence last week to Timothy Munn, of Columbus, for felony offenses that occurred in late 2024.

On December 12, 2024, the Columbus Police Department was dispatched to a residence in Columbus concerning a welfare check and a no-contact order violation. Officers located Timothy Munn parked in the driveway of the protected person's home. While attempting to check on the victim inside the home, Munn accelerated out of the driveway, fleeing from officers.

On December 17, 2024, the suspect was charged with Resisting Law Enforcement with a Vehicle (a Level 6 felony) and Invasion of Privacy (a Level 6 felony).

On December 21, 2024, CPD responded to the same residence for a violation of a no-contact order. The victim reported receiving a phone call from Munn in violation of the no-contact order. While officers were there, the victim received another call from Munn and answered it, confirming the caller was Munn.

On December 27, 2024, he was charged with Invasion of Privacy (Level 6 felony).

On April 20, 2026, Munn pleaded guilty to all Charges stemming from the December 12 and 21, 2024 charges. 

At the sentencing hearing on June 16, Judge James Worton of Bartholomew County Superior Court 1 sentenced Munn to an aggregate term of five (5) years to be served in the Indiana Department of Corrections.
