BCSO Lt. Knoef completes FBI National Academy training

COLUMBUS, Ind. - The Bartholomew County Sheriff’s Office (BCSO) congratulates Lt. Gary Knoef on graduating from the FBI National Academy in the 298th session at the FBI Training Academy in Quantico, Virginia. It is the same facility where the FBI trains its new special agents and intelligence analysts.

The National Academy is an intensive program. Law enforcement officers are provided top-tier instruction in a multitude of law enforcement topics.   

The 255 members of the 298th session of the National Academy consisted of men and women from 46 states and the District of Columbia. The class also included 29 international members from 26 countries, five military organizations, and four federal civilian organizations.    

Over the last 10 weeks, Lt. Knoef studied and trained alongside various law enforcement leaders while participating in advanced coursework focused on leadership, community relations, officer wellness and resilience, public information and media relations, terrorism and counterterrorism for law enforcement leaders, and physical fitness.   

FBI Academy instructors, special agents, and other staff with advanced degrees provide the training. Over 57,000 graduates have completed the National Academy since it began in 1935.
