RIPLEY COUNTY, Ind. - The Indiana State Police (ISP) has released body camera footage from the water rescue on Wednesday in Ripley County, near Holton.
Sgt. Stephen Wheeles has made the video available on his Facebook page.
Troopers from the ISP-Versailles Post, along with officers from the Ripley County Sheriff’s Department and Indiana Conservation DNR, worked with local fire departments to rescue three people stuck in a vehicle that had been swept approximately a half mile downstream from a flooded crossing.
Indiana State Police divers and Indiana Conservation Officers entered the water to free the occupants and to get them to safety.
Law enforcement said, "Please do not underestimate the power of moving water."
