SOUTH-CENTRAL, Ind. – River Valley Legal Aid Pro Bono Indiana presents another free Legal Aid Phone Clinic for low-income residents of its eight-county district on Tuesday, June 9, from 3 to 5:30 p.m.
The district includes Bartholomew, Johnson, Jackson, Jennings, Brown, Decatur, Rush, and Shelby Counties.
The Legal Aid and Pro Bono Program utilizes local volunteer attorneys who offer free legal consultations to low-income individuals, furthering equal access to justice within the community. Callers can expect to receive a brief consultation or advice over the phone.
Individuals seeking legal consultation must register by phoning Legal Aid at 812-378-0358, between noon and 2 p.m., on Tuesday, June 9. A volunteer attorney will return calls to those registered from 3 to 5:30 pm.
Participants will receive free legal advice on civil legal matters, including advance directives, child support, custody, divorce, guardianships, landlord-tenant issues, powers of attorney, protective orders, simple wills, and estate planning.
Questions on criminal law will not be entertained.
